Seasonal Activities 2023
As we leave 2023 and look forward to entering the New Year we think about what is coming along that might be of interest to all and any Growers - Allotmenteers, Gardeners and Armchair Gardeners of all ilks.
For starters I hope to soon have the new programme for 2024 [Ref: the 2019 Programme] for the Worcester & District Chrysanthemum and Dahlia Society. - And hasten to add that there is a good Vegetable aspect to this as well as the Flowers, which are the Society's primary focus.
You are all welcome to attend their Talks in Lower Broadheath Village Hall.
Several of their Shows include Vegetable Classes, which you're welcome to enter - There is Prize Money to be won. Fuller details will be available through their on-line Web Site and Facebook pages.
Annual Activities
A general NORA social gathering was arranged at The Alma for December 2023 which was much enjoyed by those who turned up - not so many, which was a shame as there was much to discuss especially about the current large Rent Increase in the pipeline for October 2024 - More about this in due course.

Second Sunday in August, Gheluvelt Park - For full details see Here - is a highly successful event as is well known by those of you who came along to support it - and have great fun seeing all the side shows, exhibitions, and for some by entering a few classes in the competitions, where I'm often pleased to report Awards and Success for NoRA competitors.
Please see the separate Worcester Show page for 2024, and future years.

BONFIRE NIGHT - Saturday 5th November 2023
Unfortunately we weren't able to provide an event this year. Hopefully 2024 will see this happening again.
Horse Manure
Our Regular Bi-Monthly deliveries continue on a regular basis. Unfortunately there is never enough so if you'd like more then I understand that there is plenty available at the Old Northwick Stables, should you wish, and have the capability to collect it yourself.
A few photos of NORA Plotees having fun & helping themselves from our Horse Dung mountains on a previous occasion.
We'll revisit this exercise again in the future as the opportunity arises..
Guy Fawkes
Bonfires to mark this date have often been held, with the last one in 2022.
Though not so much a Party, more just the fire we were able to plan, and carry through a very successful Plotholders Guy Fawkes Bonfire, much enjoyed by all who attended. The weather was kind ! This gave us the opportunity to dispose on much of our combustible waste material at one go, and thus not only controlling some pests, but also reducing any aggravation to our neighbours.
Though 2022 wasn't a real Party, your Site Rep had some fun burning a very large heap of accumulated bonfire material from across the site.
